US mobile payments venture Isis has struck a deal so that its app is embedded in the payment terminals at petrol pumps. The operator-backed venture has signed an agreement with two companies, Gilbarco Veeder-Root and Wayne, that run petrol pumps situated at convenience stores.

The payments app will be available in outlets in Salt Lake City and Austin, the two US cities where Isis is due to launch its service. The venture has said it will launch this summer without releasing an actual date.

The petrol pump service will enable motorists to pay for petrol, as well as present loyalty cards and redeem offers and is in addition to locations such as shops, bars and cafes where Isis has struck deals so that users can make payments.
