A consortium comprising Norway’s Telenor and private equity firm Bain have withdrawn their bid for Polish operator Polkomtel, local newspaper Rzeczpospolita reports Tuesday citing an unnamed person familiar with the matter. Polish businessman Zygmunt Solorz-Zak and private equity firm Apax have placed binding bids for the operator, people familiar with the matter told Dow Jones Newswires last week. Sweden’sTeliaSonera AB said it didn’t file a binding bid.
