Softbank, Japan’s third-biggest mobile operator, said today that it sank into a loss in its fiscal fourth-quarter on one-time costs, including launching a fixed Internet service, according to AP News. Softbank reported a net loss of JPY15.01 billion (US$154.3 million) for the January-March period, a reversal from the JPY15.4 billion it earned the same period the previous year. Quarterly sales dipped 3.7 percent to JPY690.8 billion as an ongoing recession cut into handset sales.
