Verizon Communications is unlikely to approve a dividend for Vodafone’s investors in the next few weeks, according to a Bloomberg report. The report notes that Verizon Wireless’ board doesn’t plan to discuss a potential dividend at a September 19 meeting, although a decision could still be made at a December gathering. Vodafone owns 45 percent of Verizon Wireless, with the remained owned by Verizon Communications. It has been more than a year since Verizon Wireless announced a US$10 billion dividend in July 2011, the first payout since 2005.
