Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) said it will issue preferred shares with voting rights in order to comply with a court ruling which said it was in breach of foreign ownership rules, Reuters said. PLDT is currently 64 percent owned by foreigners, using the court’s definitions, compared to a limit of 40 percent. Overseas investors in the business include NTT Docomo.
