Bulgaria’s Communications Regulation Commission has cancelled a planned auction of a mobile licence for the 2GHz spectrum band after it failed to attract any bids, reports TeleGeography. None of the six companies that expressed an interest in the 15 year licence back in July paid the required participation deposit by the 14 November deadline. It was suggested by some that operators were put off by the cost of the licence and the fact that the winner of the auction would be expected to focus mainly on mobile internet services.
