China Telecom reported a 10.2 percent increase in net income for the first three quarters of the year, hitting CNY13.9 billion (US$2.2 billion). The company also saw an 11.8 percent increase in operating revenues, which reached CNY182.4 billion (US$28.7 billion). The operator now has almost 117 million mobile subscribers compared to 83 million a year ago. Of these, 28.4 million are 3G customers, up from just 9.2 million.
