Middle East-based operator group Etisalat said it will not take part in the forthcoming 2G auctions in India, reports Reuters. Etisalat was one of the operators affected by the cancellation of the 122 2G licences by the Indian Supreme Court in February after it was decided that the original allocation of licences in 2008 had been carried out unfairly. Shortly after the announcement the company said it would exit the market before shutting down its network at the end of March.
