Indian state-owned mobile operator BSNL will reduce the cost of its 3G services in a bid to boost uptake, reports Telegeography, citing India’s Business Standard. BSNL will offer prepaid 3G SIMs for INR59 (US$1.22), with prepaid activation costs dropped to INR120 and postpaid activation costing INR225. It will also offer free, unlimited video calls for all connections for the first month for those signing up before 31 August. The operator also announced that its number of 3G subscribers has risen to approximately 40,000.
