Telefonica Digital led an investment round in HTML5 platform company Everything.me, which also included support from Firefox OS creator Mozilla and SingTel’s Innov8 investment fund.

Everything.me raised US$25 million, which it said will be used to expand its team and drive its ongoing development.

Carlos Domingo, director of product development & innovation at Telefonica Digital, said the technology will be integrated with Mozilla’s Firefox OS, of which Telefonica is a key supporter, to “add a rich and compelling content experience for customers”.

In a statement, Everything.me said that its technology adapts to user requirements by changing the apps on screen to match the content and services needed at any point in time.

Any app offered on Everything.me can be used directly from the cloud (using HTML5) without download and installation, and is also available as an iOS app with an Android version planned.

Jay Sullivan, VP of products at Mozilla, said: “Like us, [Everything.me is] committed to using the power of the web to bring the mobile app experience to consumers, regardless of the platform, OS or browser used. We are excited to be working closely together to further the abilities of the HTML5, and to create an outstanding content experience on the Firefox OS.”

Other participants in the round were Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ), DFJTF, BRM Group and Horizons Ventures.
