Watchmaker Tag Heuer unveiled what was described as “the world’s first luxury connected Swiss watch”, resulting from its partnership with Intel.

Called Tag Heuer Connected, apparently “the watch was designed with a unique approach – the dial and hands appear as normal, with partner apps displayed inside three complications on the chronograph dial at 12, 6 and 9 o’clock”.

Touching the counter in question opens the relevant app in full-screen.

In addition to its traditional style design, Intel said it “engineered the intelligence inside the watch to optimise performance and enable a multitude of connectivity options including audio streaming, while Bluetooth and WiFi allow users to harness the full range of features offered by the Android Wear operating system, even while disconnected from a phone”.

Features include built-in microphone for voice control, a sapphire crystal touchscreen and IP67 water resistance rating.

Tag Heuer Connected is listed with a retail price of £1,100 via the watchmaker’s online store, with black bracelet. Other colours are available in stores.
