Blu Products has added a six-inch handset to its portfolio of budget-friendly smartphones carrying a retail price tag of $250 (unlocked), according to Engadget.

Dubbed Blu Studio 6.0 HD, the device has a 1280×720 display, a quad core processor, and a 1.3GHz MediTek chip.

Blu Studio 6.0 HD, running on Android (4.2.2), also comes armed with a 3000mAh battery.

Shipments, reports Engadget, are due to start next month.

Blu Products, which describes itself as “one of the fastest growing mobile phone manufacturers in the world”, announced its Vivo HD 4.8 smartphone earlier this year, which it hailed as “the thinnest device in the market to utilise a 4.8-inch or larger AMOLED display”.

Available via “several distributors, dealers and online retailers” in the US and Latin America, it’s priced at $249 unlocked.

Founded in 2009, Blu Products said it “designs and manufactures affordable, attractive and innovative mobile devices to suit a wide variety of consumer needs”.

The company is based in Miami, Florida.
