Texas Instruments reported a fourth-quarter net income of US$942 million, up 44 percent year-on-year, on revenue of US$3.5 billion, up 17 percent. The improved performance was partially attributed to “the part of our Wireless segment that is focused on smartphone and tablets,” which saw growth of more than 40 percent. Overall, growth in the Wireless unit was less stellar: in Q4, it reported a 1 percent decrease in operating profit to US$180 million, on revenue up 1 percent to US$767 million.
