Canadian operator Telus said that it will remove cancellation fees for customers wanting to switch to another operator, instead displaying the amount of device subsidy remaining on a contract, which must be paid off before a customer can leave (along with a “small administrative account closure of CA$50”). Customers can also choose to bring-forward device upgrades by paying off the subsidy on their existing handset.
