Sprint is to expand its WiMAX network into a number of new markets this year, with the aim of covering a potential population of 120 million by the end of 2010. Newly announced markets that will see WiMAX in 2010 are Cincinnati, Cleveland, Los Angeles, Miami, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City and St. Louis. Earlier this year Sprint announced that it planned to launch in Boston, Denver, Kansas City, Houston, Minneapolis, New York, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., in 2010. 27 US markets are already served by its WiMAX networks.
