Reuters reports that South Africa’s Naspers’ Multichoice pay-TV unit has been awarded the country’s second mobile TV licence by the communications regulator. Naspers, Africa’s biggest media company, already operates mobile TV in Namibia, Kenya and Nigeria, and has been given twelve months by the regulator to launch services in South Africa. The country’s first mobile TV licence was awarded to e.tv, which is yet to launch services.
