Polish mobile phone operator Polkomtel received around 10 indicative bids Monday and will shortlist about five ahead of the next round expected in mid-March, according to Dow Jones Newswires. Swedish operator TeliaSonera is among the strategic bidders which may also include Norway’s Telenor, Spanish telecom giant Telefonica and Mexican phone giant America Movil. Dow Jones Newswires noted that private equity firms TPG and Blackstone Group are also believed to have submitted a joint bid, and Bain Capital put in a bid. Other buyout bidders are likely to include Providence Equity Partners, Apax Partners and CVC Capital Partners.
