Hong Kong operator CSL has commercially opened up its LTE network to consumers, but only to existing customers of its premium 1010 brand. It claims to be offering “the first 4G [modem] device” in the country, with “data speeds up to eight times faster than any other network.” 1O1O customers can upgrade their current mobile broadband plan to 42 Mb/s for HK$339 (US$44) and to 100 Mb/s for HK$399. An earlier corporate LTE service offering was launched last November.
