Article One Partners, which IDG News Service refers to as “a company using crowdsourcing methods to challenge patents,”  is calling on the public to identify evidence which pre-dates patents held by NTP, in order to provide a “path to invalidity” for  the NTP intellectual property. NTP previously had a long-running dispute with RIM about patents for email technology, and earlier this year it turned its attention to a number of companies including Apple, Google, HTC, LG, Microsoft and Motorola. IDG says that researchers can earn more than $10,000 by finding technology which existed before the NTP patent filings.
