India’s Aircel has reportedly followed in the footsteps of rivals Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Essar and Idea Cellular by lodging a petition with the country’s Supreme Court over a proposed hike in 2G spectrum fees. According to India’s Business Standard, the court has now sought a response from India’s Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and a date of 27 January 2011 has been set for hearing the objections of Aircel and others.
