Bloomberg reports that Intuit, a developer of financial software including the QuickBooks products, is looking to mobile apps as a way to tackle a slowdown in its desktop software business. A new US tax application for the iPhone has already seen more than half a million downloads, Brad Smith, its CEO, told the publication. It is also working on credit-card processing software for tablet devices, as part of a product extension which also includes additional support for online services.
