Developer i4software is participating in the “largest ever” fundraising campaign supported by appbackr, raising US$450,000 through the wholesale sale of its Flashlight app. The proceeds will be used for a large-scale marketing campaign for the app.

Buyers who purchase wholesale copies of Flashlight make money as it sells in the App Store. Buyers profit will be tiered, so that those participating later in the campaign “benefit as much as early buyers.” When all wholesale copies have sold, i4software reverts to the normal distribution model.

Two previous Flashlight campaigns saw the combined sale of 255,000 copies, paying 27 percent and 16 percent respectively to buyers. i4software used the proceeds to boost App Store sales.

“When compared to other funding and bank options, we believe in the appbackr wholesale model to be a superior alternative for successful app developers to maintain the momentum of their top apps while also funding further expansion and growth,” Michael Zaletel, CEO i4software, said.
