Japan-based mobile social gaming company GREE formed a “comprehensive business relationship” with ICS Mobile, owner of FreeAppADay, which it described as “the leading global app discovery channel for the iOS App Store.”

The Japanese company said the alliance will enable game developers to take advantage of industry-leading technologies in app discovery and social media gaming. With a focus on free-to-play titles, ICS Mobile and GREE will “collaborate in providing a comprehensive marketing and promotion solution to iOS developers.”

GREE is set to launch its new GREE Platform in the second quarter of 2012, stating that it believes that the mobile phone game market, “assisted by the new GREE Platform and the new FAAD Network,” will grow alongside the expansion of the smartphone market.

The social gaming player also said it will continue to focus on building relationships with third-party game developers and publishers as it moves toward the release of its platform.
