LIVE FROM APPS WORLD, LONDON: Developers building apps for enterprise use should first win over individual employees as consumers before attempting to get mass adoption by corporate IT departments. That’s according to Matthew Finnie, CTO of cloud computer provider Interoute, who told delegates at Apps World that developers should work around the constraints of enterprises in the same way as successful enterprise technologies have done in the past.

While members of the panel discussion Finnie was part of (pictured) agreed there is now a significant opportunity for app developers with business, he said: “The tipping point is because of consumers coming into the enterprise.”

He therefore recommended that developers should not necessarily go through the IT department. “Find a need but go straight out and hit your consumers then go into the enterprise,” Finnie said.
