US-based AppFlow has launched an iOS version of its crowdsourced app discovery platform, allowing users to recommend products to each other.

The integration of a social layer means users can create lists recommending apps, which can then be seen by others. It is possible to follow lists and be notified of new titles recommended by particular users or from a certain app category.

“By integrating the social layer and allowing users to create app lists we are basically crowdsourcing the App Store model”, said AppFlow CEO Balint Orosz.

AppFlow is already said to be the largest third party app discovery tool for Windows Phone and use has shown that users prefer to browse and view apps before selecting what they download. The iOS AppFlow interface has therefore been designed to cater for this.
