MobiKwik, an Indian firm that offers a range of m-commerce services through its mobile wallet, clocked up 10 million downloads of its Android app.

The firm launched its wallet back in September 2013 and hit the five-million mark in November last year. The second five million downloads has come in about half the time of the first, according to an infographic released by the firm.

The firm has over 17 million users in total, including those who have downloaded its iOS or Windows Phone apps, as well as the Android version, or used its website to access the service.

However, the firm does not break out the number of regular users from total downloads to give a fuller picture of its take-up.

It does mention that its top five tier-one markets for the service are New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune. Among tier-two cities, it is most popular in Jaipur, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Indore and Patna.

MobiKwik enables prepaid mobile, DTH (direct-to-home satellite TV services), data charge recharge, contract mobile bill payment, utility bill payment, as well as e-commerce and P2P money transfer services.
