Vodafone Essar is planning to launch 3G services in India during the first quarter of 2011, with plans to spend US$500 million on its network within two years, Reuters reports. Vodafone also acknowledged it is in talks with “quality” operators about coverage in areas where it does not hold its own spectrum, stating that it is “optimistic” about the potential for 3G services despite low ARPUs in the country.
