Roger Linquist, CEO of US regional operator MetroPCS, says the firm will offer LTE as a prepaid service when its launches its new network based on the standard in late 2010. Telegeography reports that the operator plans to promote the service as a non-contract month-to-month offering with no device subsidy attached. MetroPCS has selected Ericsson to provide network infrastructure for the launch, while Samsung will provide the operator with its first LTE handset, a dual-mode LTE/CDMA smartphone.
