The Turkish telecoms regulator will award four licences for UMTS services in a sealed bid tender, reports Telecompaper. Minimum bids were set at €285 million, €250 million, €214 million and €178 million. Interested bidders can obtain the tender details until November 24, with the tender planned for the following week. Turkey currently has three GSM network operators: Vodafone Turkey, Turkcell and Avea.
