US mobile phone owners are much more likely to use the devices to take pictures or send text messages than they are to run applications, according to a report cited by AFP. Thirty-five percent of US adults have applications on their mobile phones but only 24 percent actually use the programs, notes the report from the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project.
Meanwhile, in a separate report, comScore claims that 31.4 percent of US mobile subscribers downloaded applications in the three months ending July 2010, an increase of 1.6 percent on the previous three months.
