Nokia is to cut another 220 R&D staff, this time in Japan. The cuts follow news last week that it will shrink its European R&D base by 330. The company stressed that the Japanese operation of Nokia Siemens Networks is not affected by this latest announcement. Neither is Vertu, its luxury brand of handsets, which has seen success in Japan.
