Japanese market-leader NTT Docomo unveiled plans at this year’s GSMA Mobile Money Summit to launch an international version of its mobile remittance service. John Ishii, director of Docomo’s Global Business Division, said during his keynote presentation that the service – known simply as 'Docomo Money Transfer' – will initially allow its subscribers to remit funds to the Philippines, Brazil, South Korea and China, the four countries that account for some 80 percent of all foreign residents in Japan.
