Verizon boasts strong wireless adds for Q2; names new CEO
Verizon Wireless has strengthened its lead in the US market, adding 2.2 million new wireless customers (net) in Q2 - double the 1.1 million figure reported by nearest rival AT&T yesterday. Meanwhile, the operator’s parent – Verizon Communications – announced that its board has selected current President and COO Lowell C. McAdam (pictured) as its new CEO, replacing Ivan G. Seidenberg.

PayPal to run a mobile trial with major retailer by end-2011
PayPal will have a mobile payment trial up-and-running with a major US retailer before the year-end, according to parent eBay’s chief executive John Donahoespeaking during an analyst call for the e-commerce site’s Q2 2011 results.
