Microsoft/Nvidia pact sparks acquisition talk

The possible acquisition of silicon vendor Nvidia by Microsoft was the subject of significant speculation over the weekend, although it was subsequently revealed that this was due to a pact signed by the companies 11 years ago.

South Korean vendor LG Electronics has reiterated aggressive targets for its smartphone business, telling Dow Jones Newswires that it plans to launch ten new devices before the end of 2010.

LG Electronics has confirmed it will be using a dual-core processor manufacturred by Nvidia for its line of Optimus smartphones later this year
