PRESS RELEASE: Smart Axiata has deployed the world’s first FDD Tri-Mid-Band 8T network to serve its customer and deliver a better user experience.
The FDD Trip-Mid-Band 8T network is powered by Huawei’s industry-leading Ultra-Wideband technology, which doubles the capacity of traditional base stations. The deployment of the FDD Tri-Mid-Band 8T network has seen speed increase 2.5 times and boosted site traffic by approximately 30%. This new solution aims to address the growth of 4G traffic growth in high traffic density areas.

Having identified the limitations of existing network equipment, Smart has partnered with Huawei to deploy the FDD Tri-Mid-Band 8T network, featuring higher spectrum efficiency. With the help of Huawei’s unique true wideband and FDD beamforming technologies, the network can achieve up to 3 times user experience gain.
