Reports from the Indian business press suggest that Bharti and its co-owner, SingTel, will create a Special Purchase Vehicle (SPV) for their bid for MTN in order to avoid Indian regulatory hindrances.

SingTel's new mobile TV service – known as 'mio TV' - will go live in Singapore on May 24. The service uses Nokia technology to stream live TV to handsets via a mobile client.

Singapore's SingTel has confirmed it is in talks aimed at acquiring a strategic stake in a Chinese mobile operator.

SingTel is raising its stake in Filipino operator Globe Telecom by 2.9 percent for US$104 million, according to Channel News Asia.
