The UK Post Office is interested in becoming an MVNO and is talking to potential partners among the country’s mobile operators according to Mobile Today. Talks are at an early stage with the Post Office asking operators to make suggestions about how the MVNO could work.

Becoming an MVNO would fit with the Post Office’s wider modernisation strategy that includes installing a network of 30,000 NFC-based payment terminals across the UK which will be the largest such network in Europe. The story does not say whether its NFC network woud be operated by the proposed MVNO.
