BICS a leading global provider of Voice, Data and Value Added Services, is delighted to announce that it has signed an agreement to provide Roaming Hub services to the MTN Group, the biggest mobile operator group in Africa and Middle East.

In the continuous effort to meet the ever changing needs of a fast growing roaming customer base, mobile operators are implementing innovative solutions to set up roaming relations between themselves. Thus connecting to a hub as an alternative to one-to-one relationships is essential for the delivery of better value and quality services particularly for diversified telecommunications groups operating in multiple markets.

“Creating a MTN Roaming Hub together with BICS, will allow us to provide our subscribers with better quality services over a larger global footprint while taking advantage of economies of scale and an improved operational efficiency”, says Sifiso Dabengwa, MTN Group Chief Operating Officer. “The MTN Hub is being established to serve not only our own operations in the over 21 countries we currently operate in, but also our partners the world over,” he added.

“As a dedicated partner to mobile operators and an active participant of the GSMA’s Open Connectivity Initiative, we are proud to be the enabler behind MTN’s Roaming Hub to achieve greater customer experience. As the preferred international service provider to MTN Group, we are excited with the establishment of a Roaming Hub and we are confident the hub will enlarge coverage to MTN Group and BICS customers which will greatly contribute to the further roll-out of roaming services”, comments Daniel Kurgan, CEO BICS.
