PayPal-owned Braintree confirmed the launch of its One Touch payment technology outside the US. The imminent rollout was flagged up last month by Mobile World Live.

CEO Bill Ready (pictured) said in November the One Touch technology was coming to Europe “in the next couple of months”.

Now the company has spelled out its plan for Europe and elsewhere. In fact, it appears to be ahead of schedule.

The technology had a September debut in the US. And now the firm is introducing One Touch PayPal in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the UK.

The idea of One Touch is that users can pay across their regular apps without having to input their user names and passwords each time they make a transaction.
