US operator Sprint Nextel has extended its deadline for wholesale LTE operator prospect LightSquared to obtain clearance from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to operate its network, reports the Wall Street Journal. Sprint has extended the deadline by 30 days from the original 31 December deadline, with FCC clearance a condition of a 15-year spectrum and equipment sharing deal between the two companies.
