WIND, the Italian mobile operator owned by Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris, plans to raise about EUR3.4 billion of loans to refinance senior debt, according to sources at Bloomberg.  The company hasEUR4.8 billion of loans due by May 2014, according to data compiled by the newspaper. The new facility is thought to include two term loans maturing in 2016 and 2017 and also a revolving credit line for EUR400 million. The refinancing comes as Sawiris plans to merge WIND’s parent company, Weather Investments, with Russia’s VimpelCom.
