MadeForMums, a parenting website, and Heinz Baby have joined forces to offer a baby weaning app, another example of a brand backing a mobile service targeted at infants.

The new app offers a daily meal planner for the first six months of a baby’s eating, as well as expert articles providing guidance and a shopping function to add ingredients from the planner or a favourite recipe.

The app, which is free, is available for iPhone and iPad.

Other brands that have linked up with mobile health initiatives include Johnson & Johnson which sponsored the popular Text4Baby, a SMS-based advice service. And nappy brand Huggies earlier this year launched an app that offers guidance to parents about potty training.
