Nigeria’s Bureau of Public Enterprises is to open the bidding for the privatisation of Nigerian Telecommunications Ltd., or Nitel, and its mobile arm M-TEL, on February 16, notes Dow Jones Newswires. Six out of the 14 prospective investors that met the deadline for the submission of the technical and financial proposals of the privatization will participate in the bidding process; Brymedia (WA) Ltd., AF21/Spectrum Consortium, MTN Nigeria Communication Ltd., Globacom Nigeria Ltd., Omen International Ltd. and New Generation Telecommunications Ltd.
