Crowdsourcing platform AppStori formed a partnership with Millennial Media to provide mobile app developers with funding, advertising and support to bring their app ideas to market.

“There are developers out there that may have a million dollar idea, but simply don’t have the tools or resources to execute it. We want to enable these developers to realise their potential and build a business”, said Matt Gillis, SVP of global monetisation solutions for Millennial Media.

As part of the launch, eligible projects that post on AppStori will receive US$500 in cash funding and a US$500 advertising credit to put toward app discovery.

Developers will also have a dedicated Millennial Media mentor who will be available “every step of the way” to help them maximise their opportunity to monetise, market and manage their new applications.

Among the first apps to take advantage of the partnership are Trivi.al, a social trivia app now available in Apple’s App Store; SickWeather, an app that scans social networks for indicators of illness, allowing users to check for the chance of sickness in a geographic area; and GraFighters, an app that brings doodles to life and engages them in a fighting game.
