The government of Mexico and President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has embarked on a multi-year journey to address the digital divide by bringing mobile telephony and broadband services to even the most remote locations of the country through a national program known as CFE Telecomunicaciones e Internet para Todos (CFE TEIT) – “Internet for all.”

In some of Mexico’s most remote regions, Baicells is using Starlink’s low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellations to provide the backhaul capabilities across the first 120 sites that are set to go live as part of the initial rollout.

This case study explains how residents in these regions are getting 130 Mbps downstream and 30 Mbps upstream where previously there wasn’t any type of connectivity.
