Weebly, a platform that helps entrepreneurs create a website, blog or online store, has launched an app store which it says is a “one-stop-shop to customise the various needs” of businesses.

Weebly CEO and co-founder, David Rusenko told Mobile World Live the store launched with around 40 apps that can help site creators get solutions to shipping, social media, online marketing and customer support, among other things, and is integrated into the Weebly site editor.

“It’s another example of how Weebly is tackling the tough hurdles of starting a business and making it easier than ever for entrepreneurs to not only build, but grow their business,” he said.

As for developers, they can access Weebly APIs to build their own apps and submit them to the Weebly App Center.

After approval the app will be added to the store and can be downloaded by 32 million site creators worldwide, ensuring that developers can make revenue off of each download.

The app store is part of a platform called Carbon, described as a complete relaunch of Weebly, which aims to deliver new services to entrepreneurs so that they can grow their e-commerce store from any device.

Weebly has also come out with new apps for iOS and Android allowing entrepreneurs “to fully edit and manage their site or e-commerce store and build an online store from scratch using their phone and tablet”, as well as an app for the Apple Watch.

“The Apple Watch app allows site creators to check their stats on their wrist, like site visitors and sales for the day, week, month or year. It also sends them a buzz when they get a new sale to be able to take action on the order and run their e-commerce store on the go,” explained Rusenko .

“The app allows bloggers to see comments made and approve or delete them with a simple touch of a finger on their watch,” he added.

Every aspect of the design remains intact on any device.

Founded in 2007, San Francisco-based Weebly’s investors include Sequoia Capital and Tencent Holdings.
