Computer security firm viaForensics identified security flaws in mobile banking apps from companies including Wells Fargo, Bank of America and USAA, which could enable criminals to obtain usernames, passwords and financial information. According to the Wall Street Journal, the weakness comes as the apps store sensitive information on the handset, which could then be accessed either physically or remotely by a miscreant.
