Google’s revamped Maps for iOS service was downloaded more than 10 million times just 48 hours after it was released.

SVP of Product at Google, Jeff Huber, revealed the figure in a post on his Google+ profile, adding that Google is “excited for the positive reception of Google Maps for iPhone around the world”.

The Google Maps app became the most downloaded free app in Apple’s App Store just hours after being made available.

Huber added that any feedback from users is welcomed via Google+ or through the app by shaking the device.
