Glu Mobile, which describes itself as “a leading global publisher of social mobile games for smartphone and tablet devices,” announced a net loss of US$6.16 million for the three months to 30 September 2011, compared to a prior-year loss of US$1.6 million, on revenue of US$16.9 million, up from US$15.47 million. Smartphone app revenue of US$9.7 million grew 306 percent year-on-year, to make up 57 percent of its total sales. The company also said that original IP generated more than half of total revenue, for the first time in the company’s history.
