Mobile app store GetJar has announced a partnership with games publisher Glu Mobile to offer customers “free premium games,” with content available “with no ad insertions, registrations, or any other catches.” The products are available to customers without charge for a “limited two-week period.” The company says that it is able to offer the games for free “because of its size as the number two app store in the world with over 1 billion downloads to date across 200 countries which generates nearly 100 million downloads/month.”

As we noted in our recent profile, GetJar makes its money from developers buying sponsored app placements on the site, which it is now using to “buy premium content from publishers and distribute this content to consumers for free.” Content will be available for “several major platforms” including Android, BlackBerry and Java. Included titles, which will be featured in the site’s Recommended section, includes “some of Glu’s most successful licensed and original IP,” including Brain Genius 2, Stranded: Mysteries of Time, Build-a-lot and Race Driver Grid.

Separately, Didmo, creator of the Magmito “mobile application creation solution,” announced a partnership with GetJar to create an “an end-to-end solution for cross-platform mobile content creation, publishing, distribution and marketing.” Didmo says that the alliance “will empower consumers and small to mid-sized businesses to create engaging mobile apps with Magmito’s easy-to-use toolset and publish that content to GetJar,” with Magmito promoted by GetJar as its “preferred mobile marketing app creation platform.”
